Song of the Week You & I (Nobody In The World) by John Legend

OMG! This is such a beautiful song, it brought me to tears. I never thought that John could sing a more beautiful song than ‘All of Me’, but he blew it out of the water with You & I (Nobody In The World). It is a beautiful song that celebrates love in its purest form, having someone you love regardless of how they look or how imperfect they are. It also celebrates the woman, her flaws and imperfections. It reminds women that no matter how not cute or damaged or flawed you think you are, you are special and you mean the world to someone.

Listen to this song if you want a pick-me-up or you just want to hear the beautiful, melodious voice of the handsome John Legend, either way, you can’t go wrong.

Without further ado, here is a very beautiful song, and my new favorite, You & I (Nobody In The World).

Hope You Enjoyed 🙂

Song of the Week Kiss by Prince

I love Prince, he has a certain kinda conviction that only a few persons can pull off. He is very interesting,…to say the least. He has a way about him…I mean, he wore heels and skinnies and he is not gay! …He is very talented and is the man behind a lot of my favorite songs. I am very intrigued by him and his obsession with purple, it is a nice color, but I don’t get it!… I guess I never will!

The song kiss has an epic video, it leaves nothing to the imagination and his abs, is just…ahhh…and that tank top…He pulled it off! The song, underneath his high pitch voice, is a very sexy song. It is the song you listen to when you just want to get in that head space, 😉 or when you want to be reminded that you don’t have to be a particular person, to be a particular person. The song is sexy, but it has an underlying meaning that I can relate to…be you, whatever that you is! And to never be afraid to get your inner self out, as long as you ‘act your age, and not your shoe size’ 🙂 …

Many persons are not familiar with Prince and his body of work, this is your chance to change that… Here is the unforgettable…Prince! (*singing* ‘You don’t have to be cool to rule my world’…)

You are welcome! 🙂

Song of the Week: I Can by Nas

Life, Life….Life is so hard, depressing, sad, difficult, unfair, unbearable and all the other terrible adjectives that escapes me right now….Life is well, life,… it is a roller coaster, it has ups and downs, phenomenal highs and depressing, dark lows. Maneuvering the day to day activities and responsibilities of life can be a lot, at times its feels like all the little things are going to strangle me to death, but, alas,..I am pressing on!

Being able to rise above depressing lows is an enormous feet, but listening to songs like “I Can” gets me moving. This song is very motivational, and perfectly suited for the low times. It makes you feel as if you are bigger than your problems and no matter what, I can, I can achieve anything if I work hard at it…

So, if you are feeling down, depressed and have lost your will to fight, hold on for four more minutes and listen to this song, it will get you right back on your feet and ready to fight again….

….Hands in the air,…sing!….”I Know I can, be what I wanna be, if I work hard on it, I’ll be where I wanna be”!

Hope you enjoyed 🙂 ….Selah!

Song of the Week: In Case by Demi Lovato

Happiness, sadness, anger, love, hate, fulfillment and disappointment are some of the beautiful and painful things that make up relationships, relationships that we treasure and hope will never fade. But unfortunately relationships are tumultuous as such its failure is more times guaranteed than its success…when a relationship end, we sometimes hold on to the chance, the smallest glimmer of hope that one day, it will be mended, we hold out hope…just in case…

‘In Case’ sums it all up perfectly, it talks about holding out and hoping just in case that special someone find their way back. I love this song as it is soft and emotional, it can easily be a classic. Demi Lovato has a powerhouse voice and she sounds fabulous on this record. She is fast becoming the Christina Aguilera of this generation…I love how she sings, how she puts her soul in every word she is saying.

If you are going through a rough patch or you lost your love and is having faith that he/she may come back, take a listen….

Here is Demi…

Song of the Week: Human by Christina Perri

This song is a great listen, if you are in a particular mood, it will bring you to tears. Human is that song that talks about the fragility of human beings and how much it takes to be human. The average person has around two major life changing bad moments in their lifespan, outside of the routine ups and downs, the challenges of living and trying get by day by day, the pressures of fulfilling inevitable requirements and trying to live up to the ever changing and progressively more unachievable demands of society.

With all that we have to bear and suffer through, we still are capable of having a fulfilling life, armed with the ability to get up after every fall. Human is the song you listen to when you want to be reminded that falling is a part of life and that no matter how we hurt, there is still hope, we can rise, we will rise because…we are only humans.

I love Christina Perri, she sings with such soul, like she has lived every word she is singing about…don’t just take my word for it, see it for yourself…Here is HUMAN!….

Song of the Week: ***Flawless by Beyonce ft. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

If you know me or have been reading my blog, you know that I LOOOVVEEE Beyonce. I love the way she does her thing, she is unapologetic about who she is or how she presents herself. She is a hard worker who believes in giving her everything, no matter what she does. I am a fan, not because she looks good and makes great, relatable, head bumping music, but because of the person she is – the person I see through the media.

She released her album in December, tilted ‘Beyonce’ it is her most explicit and sexually charged work ever. It is mature and represents the point she is in her life. She is a grown married woman who can be as sexy, provocative or revealing as she wants. We the fans enjoy every moment of it, after all, most of us have been with her since day one, and are around the same age and as mature as her. Her album, like most music is not for everyone, I don’t like punk music, so I don’t listen to punk music! So, if you think her music is too sexually charged, simply, don’t listen!…for those who like it, continue reading…

The album has 17 songs, all of which I absolutely LOVE. However, I have some favorites, the first of which is ***Flawless featuring Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche. ***Flawless is in a way a feminist chant. It features excerpts from Adiche’s ‘We Should All Be Feminist’ (TEDxEuston in London) speech, which is quite empowering. The song begins with her highly controversial ‘Bow Down’, segues to Adiche, then to Flawless.

Flawless is the song you listen to when you want to feel like a badass, pumped up or just be reminded that there is no one else in the world like you. It is empowering, and reminds women that we can be whatever we want, that we should never to let our gender define how we think, what we do, who we are or what we achieve. It reminds us that no matter how we look, how we wake up…we are flawless!

…‘Ladies tell em’ I woke up like this, I woke up like this’….without further ado, heeerrreeesss ***Flawless!…You are welcome! 🙂

Song of the Week: All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

So many of Mariah’s songs are classics. She has a classic voice and a classy, diva-like demeanor. She can make almost anything sound good. She has been in the music business since forever and has captured our hearts with almost all the songs she releases, “All I Want for Christmas” is no different.

This song was released in 1994, almost two decades ago and it is still a Christmas staple. I like this song because it is festive, but not too festive. It speaks about, not just the materialistic things that Christmas seems to be all about now, but it talks about a person, and how that person, (not gifts) would make the season complete.

You have to be hiding under a rock to not have heard to this song… So if by any chance you are under a rock or just need to hear it one more time, have a listen….Ms. Mariah Carey everyone!…Enjoy

Hope you Enjoyed 🙂
